Soul Thief: Update to my friends.
Hey, readers. Just a little update on the status of Soul Thief. It’s been a couple of weeks since I uploaded a new chapter. Sorry about that, but things have been crazy around here and I have a gazillion projects going all at once. I’m frantically trying to finish my novel, Cross my Heart and Hope to Die, before Halloween. (It’s a personal goal) Also I’m working on three new stories. Two that will accompany my novella, The Holocaust Opera which is being published by Damnation Books in March of 2011, and one that will be published in a magazine that I cannot name yet. It’s a secret and very exciting. Plus I’ve been working on converting some of my books to audio format. I’m attempting to read them myself and it’s a challenge, but also a lot of fun. Some of them should be available in the near future on sites like I-tunes and various other sites. I’ll keep you posted.
So, as a bonus, this week I have added two long chapters to Soul Thief. Chapter 23 and Chapter 24. Both can be found just below this message. Again, thanks for bearing with me on this. I look forward to your comments.
Cheers,
Mark

I do not even know where to begin with this. First of all Thank You for a great tale so far. I stated reading this yesterday at work. That was a major mistake. Lost two hours that I really could not afford. I avoided picking it back up last night because I needed sleep. But started again this morning and just finished now. I am hungry and stiff but it has been worth it. This book is the literary equivalent of crack.
From the first page I was hooked. You have skillfully managed to balance action, exposition, plot, and characterization seemingly effortlessly and with superb skill. Your often poetic descriptions are inspired and the dialogue never fails to move the story forward while simultaneously building anticipation.
If I were to have any negative comment it would be that it is not complete. Already I feel the first stirrings of withdrawal. I need another fix. I am impressed and look forward to more, more, MORE!!!!!!

Franz, thank you so much for the kind comments. I’m glad you like my novel. From the beginning I have tried to add a chapter a week, but because of my schedule, sometimes I don’t meet that goal. You see, most of these chapters are being written on the fly and added each Sunday. It was a personal goal of mine to do it that way and see if I could be successful at it. The entire book is in my head. I just have to translate what’s there into readable and interesting text on a weekly basis. Comments like yours tell me that it’s well worth the effort. Essentially you are reading the first draft of a novel as it is being written, something few readers ever get to see. (In this day and age you have to be creative)
Those who follow along and comment will receive a free autographed copy when the book is published. If you like this book then I hope you check out some of my other published works.
Thanks again,
Mark
