Sean, I believe in strong characters, male, female, even secondary characters have to have personality and purpose or they're just cardboard.
Hope you read my new novel, The Lost Village, out in September, published by Damnation Books. A lot of players in that book, both male and female and they're all strong characters. I am in the process of beginning a massive add campaign for The Lost Village. If you read it I'd like to hear your opinion of it.
Thanks again for your keen insight.

Oh, and I agree with Jason... it's nice to see guards/workers/henchmen that aren't mindless automatons. That alwys gets me when theres a story I'm reading and some boss character tells one of his henchman to go off some woman and her baby... the guy does it without hesitating, even though we already read that the guy had infant twins or had just rescued a burlap sack full of newborn kittens. And yet, he cut the mother's throat and stomps her baby like he was picking up twinkies from the corner store.

Nice... this chapter was a shorter one, but packed with story... Doug and Annie are unearth clues and truths from different sides. I'm SO glad you didn't make Annie clueless! There's a lot of their characters developing even further as we read along.
I tired to wait a few days more before catching this "episode", but I just couldn't fight it. Hey, I made until noon on a Tuesday, so that's something. Right?

... I'm weak. Until next time, sir!

Nice chapter, I like the fact that De Roché's workers are providing some inside info. Also I will go to Amazon and leave a review, just haven't had time yet.
